Application of Transgenic Strains of Caenorhabditis elegans in Studies on Environmental Exposure Evaluation and Environmental Toxicology
|
Abstract:
So far, Caenorhabditis elegans as a model animal has been widely used in the studies on environmental exposure evaluation and environmental toxicology. In this review, the recent progresses in the application of transgenic strains of Caenorhabditis elegans for studies on environmental exposure evaluation and environmental toxicology were systematically introduced. The characteristics of being sensitive and directly visualized, which are the main characteristics of transgenic strains of Caenorhabditis elegans in toxicity evaluation of environmental exposure, were analyzed. On this basis, the questions needed to be solved and the suggestions for solutions were discussed so as to make better applications of transgenic strains of Caenorhabditis elegans in environmental exposure evaluation and environmental toxicology.
