pH-DEPENDENCE OF BACTERIORHODOPSIN CONFORMATION STUDIED BY FLUORESCENTE LIFETIME OF ANS PROBE

By measuring fluorescent lifetime of AXS binding with purple membrane, the pH - dependence of bacteriorhodopsin conformation was studied. Results show that with the merease of pH. the lifetime decreases in actcie mediurn and increases in basic medium.The biletime contains fast and slow components, and the percentage of two component, changes with the change of pH, The results show that pH of medium can cause the change of protein conformation.
