PIXEL ADDRESS VECTOR REPRESENTATION OF IMAGES FROM SERIAL SECTIONS OF BIOLOGICAL MICROSTRU-CTURE AND its 3-D RECONSTRUCTION INFORMATION PROCESSING
|
Abstract:
This paper presents an image representational approach in pixel address vector for serial sections of biological microstructure and corresponding image information processing-3-D reconstruction, reconstructed 3-D model rotating round some selected spatial axes and recutting the model with computer software.Compared with conventional representation of image in matrix, the quantity of data for the same image sequence could be saved considerably.Consequently the 3-D reconstruction based on the principle of shading and subsequent image information processing of microstructures with various morphologies especially non-centresymmetrical microstructures could be accomplished using only a low level microcomputer graphics system. Moreover, when the image was representated in matrix the boundary problem induced by dividing and integratinga very large image could be avoided.Because of the decrase of image data, the speed of image information processing could be raised. This approach of image representation may be suitable also for other image sequences processing including time image sequence obtained from living things.
