RELATIVE SPACIAL FREQUENCY CONSTANCY IN BINOCULAR TILT EFFECT
|
Abstract:
The function of binocular Synergism is not only extending the field of vision, but also more important to obtain the stereopsis. But the mechanism of the information processing of binocular stereoscopic vision was not known well at present. It is remained to be studied. We have investigated binocular depth perception by using stereoscopic presentation of two gratings of identical cycles, but at different distance from two eyes of the observer. The orientation of tilt of stereoscopic image from the frontal plane was in accordance with that effect first reported by Blakemore. The relation between the angle of tilt and diffrequency ratio were proved quantitatively, and the results show that there may exist relative spatial frequency multiple distance constancy in analysis of diffrequency in the two eyes. We believe that this was a new kind of psychological law for global stereopsis, which determine relative depth of one object.
