Study on the penetrating depth of ion beam with low energy implanted in plant seeds and microbes
|
Abstract:
A theoretical model is proposed to compute the penetrating depth of ion beam with low energy implanted in plant seeds and microbes. Consider the biological medium as a multi-component system of homogeneous phase and calculate the penetrating range of 30 keV N implanted into paddy seed and 100 keV As implanted into bacteria. The calculation is consistent with experimental data. For plant seed, because of vacuum environment and thermic and mechanical effect during ion implantation, dynamic changes of seed structure influenced by water evaporation can make average penetrating depth much larger.
