THE DETERMINATION AND THE INFLUENCING FACTORS OF THE QUANTUM YIELDS OF SINGLET OXYGEN GENERATED FROM PHOTOSENSITIZATION OF HEMATOPORPHYRIN DERIVATIVES
|
Abstract:
The relative values lor singlet oxygen (1O2) quantum yields in the photo-dynamic systems containing hematoporphyrin derivatives in some given conditions have been determined by measuring the photodegradation of tryptophan. The practical value of 102 quantum yield and the rate constant of reaction between 1O2 and tryptophan were deduced from the relationship between 1O2 yields and the concentrations of tryptophan. The effect of some factors, such as pH, temperature,Hpd-concentration and the light wavelenth,on 1O2 quantum yields were studied. The results show that the yields of 1O2 increase with increasing the temperature and pH value, decrease with increasing the Hpd-concentration,and depend upon light wavelenths. The possible reason influencing 1O2 yields was disscused.
