A database and extended analysis system for nucleic acids and proteins has been established by using FOXBASE+. It is composed of 30 functional modules. The system provides researchers with a variety of computational tools for analysing their sequences, including restriction endonuclease cut site searches on DNA molecules, homology comparation between DNA or RNA fragments, design of chemical synthesis of genes, design of sequencing primers and hybridization probes as well as seach for open reading frames etc. In addition, any sequence data of nucleic acids and proteins can be transferred into the system from other database and analysed further by the system.
