Advances in Effects of Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals on Sex Determination of Fish

There are plenty of aquatic endocrine disrupting chemicals which disrupt the fish sex determination process. In order to afford convenience for the researches of the effects and mechanisms of endocrine disrupting chemicals on disruption of fish sex determination, this paper reviewed the function of sex determination genes including SRY and DMY, and also the sex determination related genes such as Sox, DMRT, CYP, Vasa, Dax1 and Foxl2 in the fish sex determination process. This paper also reviewed the advances in the estrogenic and androgenic effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals on sex determination of fish, discussed the potential mechanisms and future prospects on this field as well.
