APPROXIMATE ENTROPY ANALYSIS IN THE STUDY OF NONINVASIVELY DETECTING FOCAL ISCHEMIC CEREBRAL INJURY

Abstract:
The early noninvasively detection of focal ischemia cerebral injury is signi ficant for the clinic.An experimental model of focal ischemia cerebral injury f or SD(Sparague-Dawley rat is presented.EEG signals of ischemic region and nor mal region are recorded during the ischemia.The approximate entropy ApEn anal ysis of EEG signal of focal ischemia cerebral injury is studied.As the algorithm of ApEn can be used for short time series so that some difficulties owing to th e signal nonstationarity could be overcome.In addition,no coarse graining prep rocessing is needed.Results show that the ApEn of EEG can be clearly distinguis hed.Therefore the ApEn analysis of EEG signal can be used to detect both the ex tent and location of focal ishcemic cerebral injury.
