Current applications of flow cytometry FCM in aquatic microbi ota research were reviewed.Identification of aquatic microbiota analysis of aquat ic microbiota abundance and biomass cell cycle analysis ecology and physiology research of aquatic microbiota were covered.The application of FCM to freshwater microbiota and environment biology of aquatic microbiota research were also discussed.The improvement of FCM technique and instrumentation will promote aquatic microbiota research which providing a better understanding of aquatic ecosystems.
