The actions of THOwere tested on isolated ventral nerve cord of the Cockroach P. fuliginosa, using oil-gap, single fible, and voltage-clamp recording technique. The insecticidal activity of THO was primarily determined by inward Calcium currents of the presynaptic membrane and postsynaptic potential (EPSPs). (1) In voltage-clamp, THO (2×10-5M) suppression of Both potassium, sodium currents and EPSPs was noted after 15min. (2) THO modifies inward Calcium currents, slowly reduced the peak of Iea.
