A REVISED PROGRAMME AND EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH FOR MEASUREMENT OF VISCOELASTICITY OF HUMAN BLOOD
|
Abstract:
A revised data - processing programme for the measurement of the v iscoelasticity of human blood with the rotary rheometer advancesed. A series of experiments, concerning the effects of average shear rates, RBC Hematocrit. RBC aggregation and choice of anticoagulants on the measurements of viscoelasticity of human blood demontrated the advantage of this programme. The results showed that although the effect of RBC Hematocrit on viscoelasticity is very signifinant, it can be eliminated by defining a new complex viscoelasticity parameter L*,which is independent of the hematocrit and can be considered as a useful parameter for establishing the normal range of viscoelasticity of human blood. Added to this, the results suggest that EDTA can be used as a recommendable anticoagulant.
