A STUDY ON THE STRUCTURE PROPERTIES OF PURPLE MEMBRANE LB FILM

Abstract:
We have studied the structure properties of purple membrane fragments in purple membrane LB film, scanning electron microscopic observation showed that the diameter of small single purple membrane was about 0.3u. We have measured the thickness of purple membrane. The thickness of single purple membrane fragment in purple membrane LB film by Alpha step apparatus was 40-50A. The distribution of purple membrane fragments in purple membrane LB film at different surface pressure and different purple membrane concentration have been measured. When surface pressure was 30mN/m or weight ratio of purple membrane to soybean phospholipid was 20 : 1, purple membrane fragments were easy to overlap and aggregate.
