SECONDARY STRUCTURE OF INSULIN STUDIED BY FTIR SPECTROSCOPY

Abstract:
The secondary structure of insulin on the dried film was determined by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The problems related to the determination, such as the signal/noise ratio, resolution enhancement of the spectrum, curve fitting and the assignment of the absorption components were discussed. The contents of the substructures thus determined are in agreement with those derived from X-ray data.
