A SPECTRUM AND CROSS-CORRELATION ANALYSIS OF AUDITORY BRAINSTEM RESPONSES (ABR)
|
Abstract:
A spectrum and cross-correlation analysis of auditory brainstem responses (ABRs) of normal subjents and patiects with hearing disorders was studied at about 200Hz, 500Hz and 800-1000Hz while few components above 1200Hz in the amplitude-frequency curves of ABRs of normal subjects. The spectrum amplitudes of ABRs for patients with hearing disorders are much smaller than that for normal subjects. The whole spectrum shifts towards low frequency end and frequency components are mainly below 600Hz.The cross-correlation function of ABRs between normal subjects and certain standard ABRs reaches its maximum within the first 0.5 ms, after that it decreases gradually. There is no distinct maximum in the cross-correlation function between abnormal ABR and the standard one, the whole curve appears rather plain.
