INVESTIGATION ON THE FLUIDITY OF HUMAN ERYTHROCYTE MEMBRANES DURING BLOOD PRESERVATION WITH FATTY ACID SPIN LABELS
|
Abstract:
Two fatty acid spin label, 5-Doxyl stearic acid and 16 -Doxyl stearic acid, were used to investigate the fluidity of human erythrocyte membranes and its temperature relevances during a 35-day period of blood preservation in ACD-B anticoagulant. The results showed: during the preservation period, the fluidity of outer erythrocyte membranes decreased while that in the depth increased; the phase transition temperature of outer erythrocyte membranes decreased significantly, in the depth of the erythrocyte membranes two phase transition points, T1 and T2 of lipids were existed the two phase transition points got close to each other during the preservation period. At the end of the 35 -day period the two points fused to form a single point.
