THE APPLICATION OF TAPE RECORDER IN THREE-DIMENSIONAL COMPUTER RECONSTRUCTION SYSTEM FOR SERIAL SECTIONS OF BIOLOGICAL TISSUE
|
Abstract:
In three-dimensional computer reconstruction system for serial sections of biological tissue, video tape recorder (VTR)was used as its input and output equipment and the effect is satisfactory. A Sync Recovery Unit(SRU) was developed for eliminating the noise induced by repeatedly displaying one frame of images recorded on a videotape, thus the image data of the sections could be collected stably frame by frame by the Cromemco microcomputer through SDD image input interface. After editing processing to the recorded rotating reconstructed images, the three-dimensional morphology of a biological microstructure displayed by VTR has more vivid and realistic feelings than by the computer graphics system itself, and of course, the demonstration is quite convenient. The significance and application perspective of VTR in biological image sequence analysis have been discussed.
