THE EFFECT OF RECONSTITUTION OF BACTERiORHODOPSIN ON THE STRUCTURE AND MOBILITY OF BACTERIORHODOPSIN
|
Abstract:
The rotation diffusion and lifetime of all-trans retinal-reconstituted bacteriorhodopsin and eosin-labeled-bacteriorhodopsin were measured by the technique of flash-induced transient dichroism. The bacteriorhodopsin was reconstituted into dimyristoylphatidylcholine vesicles. Reconstitution of bacteriorhodopsin of all-trans retinal didn't affect the rotation diffusion of bacteriorhodopsin in membrane. The effects of melittin on bacteriorhodopsin and all-trans retinal-reconstituted bacteriorhodopsin were the same. Lifetime of eosin-labeled bacteriorhodopsin was so short that it was difficult to measure the rotation diffusion of bacteriorhodopsin in membrane.
