THE DYNAMIC FEATURES OF A SIMPLIFIED NEURONAL GROUP MODEL
|
Abstract:
The oscillation and synchronization of neuronal firing rate are some of the recentdiscoveries of the visual neural physiology. These are also the basis for the hypothesis on theobject perception by the temporal coherency of neuronal groups. Based on the dynamicequations of simplified neuronal group models, which we have done some modifications, the influence of the noise on the coherency and dependency of the oscillations are investigated. The simulation results are consistent with those in the physiological experiments. We alsostudied the dependency of output of neuronal activities on the temporal structures of the input. The frequency-locking phenomenon of the neural firing rate was demonstrated. This phenomenon, which is typical in nonlinear systems, can occur only as the input possess temporal structure. The synchronization beweenn two groups and its possible mechanism are also discussed.
