A THEORETICAL MODEL OF MULTI-MOLECULAR CONDENSATION OF DNA
|
Abstract:
With our experimental data of DNA condensation, a theoretical model of multi-molecular condensation of DNA has been built based on the successive association model of TANFORD, It reveals the association mechanism of DNA molecules in a condensed particle, and is able to predict the aggregation number distribution of a condensed particles. The theoretical distribution from model is consistent with the statistical distribution from E.M. data. Since one set of parameters could fit two curves of size distribution of toroids produced fron different length of DNA fragments. it proves that the dimension of condensed particles is independent of the molecular weight of DNA. Besides, the comparison of Gaussian distribution and aggregation number distribution of toroids has been processed.
