THE EFFECTS OF GABA AND PICROTOXIN ON THE RESPONSE CHARACTERISTICS OF AUDITORY INTERNEURON AN2 IN BUSHCRICKET Gampsocleis gratiosa

Abstract:
Intracellular electrophysiological technique was used to detect the effects of GABA and its antagonist picrotoxin, and also d-tubocurarine on spike discharge characteristics of the auditory interneuron AN2 in the bushcricket Gampocleis gratiosa. The results show that GABA and d-tubocurarine inhibit spike discharge of AN2, While picrotoxin increases the spike discharge of the AN2 neuron, and even changes its discharge pattern from "Quasi-tonic" to "tonic".
