Avian''s vocal system and modulation mechanism in vocalization
|
Abstract:
Birds have complex vocal behavior, their sounds are produced by vocal organ syrinx.Though the vocal speciality and anatomy of vocal organ are different between oscine and non-oscine,the motor control pattern of vocalization in these two kinds of birds is similar. This paper reviewed the latest progress in study of birdsong. The role and anatomy structure of vocal organ, motor control mechanism and amplitude/frequency modulation between oscine and non-oscine were compared.Bird's vocal system is a good animal model for studying human language and it can provide reference for human language learning.
