STUDY ON INTERMEDIATE STATE IN THE PROCESS OF MELITTIN SELF -ASSOCIATION BY FLUORESCENCE SPECTRA
|
Abstract:
Intrinsic fluoascent emission of melittin and its first derivative spectra were used forstudying of the self-association of melittin induced by NaCl. In the self-association process, the bandwidth of melittin fluorescence emission spectram was broadered and reached a maximum at the transition point. It is found that the intrinsic emission spectrum containsmonomeric and tetrameric conponents by curve fitting analysis. The result indicates that themelittin self-association is consitent with two-state conversion model, and no homogeneousintermediate state exists during its self-association.
