CORRELATION ANALYSIS OF EVOKED OTO-ACOUSTIC EMISSIONS, 40-Hz AUDITORY EVENT RELATED POTENTIAL AND PSYCHOACOUSTICAL RESPONSE
|
Abstract:
Evoked oto-acoustic emissions (EOAE) stimulated by 500 Hz tone at a certain range of stimulus levels were recorded in 20 adults(9 normal and 11 abnormal) . No emission could be recorded from 13 (33%) out of all the ears(40), three of them were from three normal adults and ten of them were from five otopathy patients. The EOAE threshold, the thresholds of 40-Hz auditory event -related potential (40-Hz AERP) and psychoacoustical respone were also measured and compared. In this work we found that 93% of EOAE thresholds ranged from 20 to 60 dB nHL, 95% of 40 Hz AERP thresholds ranged from 20 to 40 dB and 91% of psychoacoustical response thresholds ranged from 20 to 40 dB. The correlation analysis showed that the threshold of EOAE was correlated with that of 40 Hz AERP (r =0.607, 0.002
