THE MEDIA DEPENDENCE OF ROTATIONAL DIFUSION OF BACTERIORHODOPSIN IN VESICLS
|
Abstract:
The effect of the sucrose and glycerol on the rotational diffusion of BR in DMPC vesicles was measured by the tecnique of flash-induced transient dichroism. The results show that there is negligible contribution to the BR anisotropy decay by vesicle tumbling in DMPC vesicles. Above and below phase transition point of DMPC, the effects of the sucrose and glyserol on the rotational diffusion of BR are different. Below the phase transition point, media cause the phase separation and the rotational diffusion of BR bornes slow. Above the phase transition media maybe cause the spread of lipid, the rotational diffusion of BR becomes fast.
