Abstract:

Four sets of random-dot stereograms with different texture were digitally filtered to pass wilson's four spatial frequency channels by Butter worth filter and Gabor function filter. Filtered stereograms were paired in various combinations and examined under a stereoscope to see if any depth could be perceived.we observed that.1. The stereopsis of stereograms filtered by Gabor function is better than those filtered by Butterworth filter.2. The stereopsis of filtered stereograms are related with texture.3. when stereograms with different spatial frequency components matched, most stereograms could produce stereopsis.4. when stereograms with different spatial frequency components matched, the right eye is more sensitive to the high frequency components of stereograms than left eye is.
