Abstract:
In the preset study the behavinr of 16-NS and DPH in DPPG inedigitated bilayer induce by anisodalnine was investigatal. Intetdigitation caused a large inCreaSe in the orderparameter of a fatty aam spin fabled near the terminal methyl, 16-NS, so that it approacheStO that of another fatty acki spin fabled closer tO the polar lead group region, 5-NS. Themotion of these spin labels borne more restrital in an interdigitatal gel phase bilayer thanin a noninteldigitatal.The fluousrm inboity of DPH wus ndutal as DPPG underwent the bilayer transitionfrom noninterdigitatal tO interdigitatal. The decrease in fluorescence may rebate to a change inlocation of the probe in the membrane during the transition.
