Progress in Metabolic Engineering of Xylose Utilising Recombinant Strains

Abstract:
Xylose is widespread in the lignocellulosic waste of agricultural and forest products.Xylose can be used as substrates for microbial fermentation to ethanol.It is significant in the utilization of renewable lignocellulosic material.In this paper,we describe the strategies of xylose metabolic engineering and sum up the progress in construction of xylose utilisation recombinant strains.
