THE EFFECTS OF NOISE ON THE METABOLISM OF SEROTONIN(5-HT) IN BRAIN OF MICE
|
Abstract:
In this paper, the effects of silent acclimation and noise of different types on the metabolism of 5-HT in brain of 615 mice and white mice have been analysed. The silent acclimation can cause a significant decrease of the metabolism of 5-HT in brain in most of 615 mice by 15.1% and 19.9%. A significant increase of the metabolism of 5-HT is induced by the continuous pulse noise. It increases by 10.2% and 22.5%, respectively. In most of white mice, the metabolism of 5-HT are not affected by silent acclimation and the continuous pulse noise. But the low frequency random noise with the dominant frequency at 125-250Hz and the pink noise can both cause a significant increase of the metabolism of 5-HT in brain of them, and it has increased by 29.0-39.7% and 28.0-32.7%, respectively.
