STUDIES ON THE AUDITORY CENTER OF THE BRAINSTEM OF THE RAT CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SYNAPSES IN THE CENTRAL NUCLEUS OF THE INFERIOR COLLICULUS
|
Abstract:
1.Usually, there are different types of terminals of axon and dendrite which form a clustered ending in the Central Nucleus of the Inferior Colliculus(ICCN) . The synaptic arrangements in ICCN is mainly serial.2. There are various components of the synaptic vesicles within the axon ter- minals of the clustered ending.3.Types of the synaptic structures in ICCN have been shown. One is the asymmetrical synapse, the other is the symmetrical synapse.4.A large number of the synaptic vesicles of ICCN often appear within the presynaptic terminals. It is also observable that there is one or two large mitochondria near the postsynaptic membrane.5.The results demonstrated the structure of the synapses, the types of synaptic arrangements, synaptic organization and its characteristics of the Central Nucleus of the Inferior Collisulus in the auditory center of the brainstem of the rat.
