Sex pheromone mass trapping trials for control of the oriental fruit moth, Grapholitha molesta Busck, were conducted in the pear orchards of Suizhong County, Liaoning Province from 1978-1980. Mass-trapped area was 2 , 100 and 780 hectares in 1978, 1979 and 1980 respectively. 10-15 water bowl traps baited with the synthetic sex pheromone of the oriental fruit moth per hectare were used in the field trials.
