Preliminary Studies on Soil Animals in a Ragweed Habitat
|
Abstract:
The number of individuals and groups of soil animals increased with the proceeding of growth seasons and attained the maximum value in August. In August and September, the number of individuals and groups of soil animals in ragweed habitats was remarkably less than that in other habitats.Ragweeds showed selective containment on soil animal groups, and it was more significant for Nematoda and Enchytraeidae. The impacts of ragweed on soil animals in reproductive period exceeded that in vegetative period, that of A.artemisiifolia exceeded that of A.trifida, that in pure ragweed community exceeded that in the community with ragweed and other plants.
