Based on an investigation in gaps and non gap stands in the tropical montane rain forest of Bawangling Natural Reserve,Hainan Island,the quantitative characteristics of tree species in gaps and non gap stands,the regeneration responses of the major tree species to gaps and tree species diversity changes were analyzed.
