A STUDY ON THE STEMFLOW OF THREE TYPES OF NATURAL SECONDARY FOREST

This paper deals with the relationship between stemflow and morphological characteristics of each dominant tree species of three types of natural secondary forest (Betula platyphylla,Franxinus mandshurica,and Quercus mongolica) and stemflow chemistry. The stemflow varies obviously with types of forest and depends on their leaf morphological characteristics, branch angle and leaf area index . Q . mongolica can get mbre water and nutrients through stefriflow that help it to adapt to dry. meager soil at the mounta'n ridge.
