PERFORMANCES OF EXPERIMENTAL POPULATIONS OFAPHIDS, MYZU PERS/CAE(SULZER), FEDON THE RAPE LEAVES EXPOSED TO SO2
|
Abstract:
This papar deals with performances of laboratory populations of green peach aphid,Myzus persicae(S>ulzer),living on the rape leaves fumigated with SO2 doses ranging from 40 ppb to 160 ppb. The trend indexes of population, the net reproduction rates(R0), and the innate capacities for increase(rm), of the aphids fed on the rape leaves exposed to SO2 concentrations of 40 ppb and 80 ppb increased by 39.2,%, 91.0%; 35.5%, 83.9% and 11.9%, 10.5%, res- pectively, compared to those of the insects on the control leaves fumigated with charcoal-filtered air. At the higher levels of SO2 these parameters gradually declined. Other useful parameters of the experimental populations of the aphids are also presented at the levels of SO2 tested.
