Abstract:

Fully understanding of the distribution and contents of trace elements in soil and forage is important in order to improve the physical and chemic environment of soil and enhance the nutritional value of forage. Forage in warm and cold season and soil samples were collected from subalpine hill meadow, subalpine flat meadow and subalpine swampy meadow in northwest Sichuan grassland, with the depth of soil in the ranges of 0-10cm, 10-20cm and 20-30cm.Contents of Cu, Fe, Mn, Zn and Co in forages and valid contents of these trace elements in soils were determined with flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Concentrations of F- in soils and F in forages were tested with fluoride-ion selective electrode method. The pH of soils displayed an order as hill meadow Soil > alluvium > turfy meadow Soil. Moreover, soil pH decreased with the increasing depth of soil. Deficiency of Co in soil and forage was observed, 0.64 mg/kg in soil and 0.26 mg/kg in forage respectively. The forage contained higher normal level of Fe and Mn, namely, 414.51-565.06 mg/kg of Fe, and 138.68-247.09 mg/kg of Mn.
