Characteristics of atmospheric stability at the boundary of atmosphere-tropical seasonal rainforest canopy in Xishuangbanna of Southwest China

Abstract:
Based on the routine observation data and eddy correlation data in 2003-2005, this paper analyzed the frequency distribution of atmospheric stability at the boundary of atmospheretropical seasonal rainforest canopy in Xishuangbanna of Southwest China. The atmospheric stability was estimated by Monin-Obukhov length and Bulk Richardson number, and the results showed that the change pattern of the stability estimated by the two parameters had a similar trend, but the occurrence frequency differed with atmospheric conditions. The atmospheric stability estimated by Bulk Richardson number exhibited more fluctuations in different seasons and years, compared with that estimated by Monin-Obukhov length.
