Abstract:

TGGE analysis of 16S rDNA gene V3 region was used to study the population dynami cs and bacterial diversity in two functionally different aeration tanks (TJ1 and TJ2) within a phenol-degrading activated sludge process. The band patterns pro duced from samples collected at 3-day intervals over 8 time points from each ae ration tank demonstrated a high degree of similarity, with Cs values at 100 %.
