Dynamics of Culex tritaeniorhynchus and Culex pseudovishnui populations in newly built and present villages in southern Yunnan Province
|
Abstract:
In this paper,a comparative study was conducted on the dynamics of Culex tritaeniorhynchus and Cx.pseudovishnui populations in the newly built migration village Dongfanghong and present village Longtang in southern Yunnan Province. The results showed that in the human houses of Dongfanghong village, there was no difference in the population density between the two mosquito species, except that Cx.tritaeniorhynchus had a higher population density than Cx.pseudovishnui in June(P>0.05).During the whole period of trapping, the density(D)and dominance(d)of C.pseudovishnui in human houses(D=10 mosquitoes per light,d=0.04)and cattle pens(D=52 mosquitoes per light,d=0.06)of Dongfanghong village were higher than those(human house:D=33 mosquitoes per light,d=0.10;cattle pen:D=99 mosquitoes per light,d=0.09)of Longtang village, suggesting that the population characters of the vector mosquitoes of Japanese B encephalitis would be changed with the construction of new migration village.
