Effects of salicylic acid, abscisic acid and hydrogen peroxide on the photosynthesis and antioxidase activities of wheat under cadmium stress
|
Abstract:
The photosynthetic rate and antioxidase activities of wheat pretreated under Cd stress with salicylic acid(SA),abscisic acid(ABA) and hydrogen peroxide(H2O2) treatments were investigated in two-leaf period using hydroponic experiment. The results showed that SA,ABA and H2O2 treatment enhanced superoxide dismutase(SOD) and peroxicase(POD) activities of wheat leaves and roots, increased catalase activities of leaves, and decreased the contents of malondiadehyde(MDA) to some extent.Furthermore, all treatments increased the content of chlorophyll and the photosynthetic rate in leaves. The results indicated that SA,ABA or H2O2 treatment enhance wheat toleranced to Cd stress,in which the effect of H2O2 treatment was the most obvious.
