BEHAVIOR OF RADIOACTIVE CERIUM IN A SIMULATED AQUATIC ECOSYSTEM
|
Abstract:
The dynamics of transport, accumulation and disapperance of 141 Ce in pond watersilt-aquatics system were studied. The results showed that the relation between the concentra-tion of 141 Ce in each compartment and the time could be described by multi-component expo-nential laws. The concentration of 141 Ce in pond water decreased monotonously with time, but the concentration of 141 Ce in silt would increase with time. The concentration of 141 Cein the aquatics increased to their maxima then decreased slowly. 141 Ce could be concentratedby the aquatics to a certain degree, and the magnitude of their concentration factors was:hornwort>> snail> fish. The uptake of 141 Ce by fish was mainly in the viscera, wheras itsconcentration showed little differences in the shell and flesh of snail.
