Pride, assuredness and introspectiveness: the hope for Chinese ecology

Modern ecology pays more and more attention to meet the needs of industry, agriculture and social development. Ecology is not only one of the fastest developing scientific fields, but also is becoming the scientific basis of people's behaviors, and governmental policy and decision-making. The vast diversified ecosystems, developed and preserved in China, provide unique research sites for Chinese ecologists. Thousand years of Chinese culture has gestated abstruse ecological wisdom. Recent years, Chinese ecology has been developed rapidly, and some researches have reached the front line of global ecological study. Chinese government is paying more and more attention to ecological construction and put forward the scientific development concept of all-around, harmonious and sustainable, which not only defines the a direction of social development in the future of China, but also is important to drive ecology development. Chinese ecologists should focus on the requirement and challenges of social and economic development, make more contribution for implementation of sustainable development strategy in China.
