Effects of different fertilization system on microbial biomass carbon in aquic brown soil
|
Abstract:
A long-term fertilization experiment was conducted on an aquic brown soil in the lower reaches of Liaohe River plain to study the effects of different fertilization system on soil microbial biomass carbon (MBC). The results showed that no fertilization resulted in the least soil MBC, while balanced fertilization with chemical fertilizers and applying recycled manure increased soil MBC significantly, with the best effects when chemical N, P and K plus recycled pig manure were applied. The soil MBC content was higher in summer and autumn, but lower in spring and winter. A combined application of chemical N, P and K plus recycled pig manure could significantly increase the turnover rate of soil MBC to 1.03 times per year.
