DIFFERENT FIBER CONDUCTION VELOCITY AND EXCITABILITY OF VAGUS NERVE IN TOCP TREATED HENS
|
Abstract:
The adult white leghorn hens exposed to tri-o-cresyl phosphate (TOCP) were examined for different fiber conduction velocity and excitability of vagus nerve. The result showed fhat, 14 and 21 days after TOCP administration, fiber 5 conduction velocity of vagus nerve in all treated animals started to slow down as much as 30% and 52% of control values, and the excitability of vages nerve were also decreased markedly. It is concluded from this experiment that TOCP induced delayed neuropathy can affect vagus nerve which, to some extent, related to visceral function.
