STEREO CAPTURE:LOCAL REMATCHING DRIVEN BY DISPARATE CONTOURS
|
Abstract:
The explanations of stereo capture have been diverse since it was first observed ten yearsago. Our observations support the view of local rematching of elements bounded and driven by disparate contours superimposed on wallpaper. The contours can be either subjective or physical. The disparity of contours, however, must be one of the multiple disparities that the wallpaper may convey,no matter whether crossed or uncrossed. Binocular attention induced by the disparate contours and the disparate isolation areas captured region and background can facilitate and stablize local rematching.
