EEFECT OF GOSSYPOL FORMIC ACID ON PLASMA MEMBRANE OF GOLDFISH SPERMATOZOA
|
Abstract:
The effect of gossypol formic acid on arranging pattern of protein particles including crystal-like structure contained in sperm plasma membrane at ultrast-ructural level has been investigated by using freeze-fracture and etching technique. It has been shown from this experiment that uneven distributions of intramembrane particles are caused by gossypol formic acid: either many particles aggregate together to form large clusters, or plasma membrane in some area could be particles free. In addition, part of crystal-like structure get mixed. Above changes indicate that the orderity of the plasm membrane is reduced, i.e. the fhe fluidity of membrane is increased dy gossypol formic acid.
