Comparative Analysis on Reaction of Students on Computer Assisted Instruction for Teaching Arithmetic with Different ModesDOI: 10.5923/j.edu.20130301.07 Keywords: Computer Assisted Instruction, Effectiveness, Self-Learning Material and Auto Instruction Abstract: Investigators have conducted a true experimental study to compare the academic performance of students of class VIII in one of the English medium school of Vadodara, India. A comparison was made among traditional instruction, only Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) and Computer Assisted Instruction with simultaneous discussion. The design used in this study was post-test only control group design. Three sections of class VIII were selected and the groups were randomly assigned. Students studied in their respective methods till the completion of the selected units. Reaction Scale was developed and administered to the students to know the effectiveness of the developed CAI. Data was analysed using Chi Square and percentage. From the comparative analysis of the reaction scale it was found that students liked their respective ways of learning. Investigators observed that students enjoyed learning mathematics through CAI.
