Management of the studied soils did not reveal any direct and explicit impact on the buffering area. In the majority of the soils studied, the alkaline area was larger than the acidic area. Meadow soil was characterized by much larger alkaline buffer area and much smaller acidic area than soils from arable fields and vegetable gardens. The soils studied indicated a better capacity to counteract alkalinization than acidification processes. The ratio of the buffer alkaline to acidic area was 0.3-2.9.
