Abstract: as teachers of bahía blanca city, argentina, our purpose was to think about what in our schools are the conditioning factors to differentiate the gender being transmitted in educational institutions. for so doing, some inquiries (388 in whole) of teachers and pupils (boys and girls) were made, involving three items. the first focuses upon the assumptions about how a male or female is and must be. the second intends to stress the usual explanations about the school costume worn solely for women at the level of secondary school, and the third factor is intend to verify the degree of knowledge attained by teachers of both sexes about certain theoretical concepts in relation to themes of gender.
