Comportamiento de cinco variedades de ca？a de azúcar para rendimiento de forraje en el Valle de Santa Cruz de Bucaral, estado Falcón, Venezuela

five varieties of sugarcane (saccharum sp. hybrid): b80-549, cr74-250, v71-39, b80-408 and pr 61-632 were evaluated for forage yield and leaf/stem ratio in different cutting ages (4, 8, 12 and 16 months) and harvest cycles at the santa cruz valley of bucaral, venezuela. the study was conducted using a randomized block experimental design with split plot arrangement. the statistical analysis showed that the largest values of leaf / stem ratio (l / t) were observed in varieties b80-549, cr74-250 and pr61-632. the highest values of green forage ton per hectare (tmvh) were obtained in b80-549, pr61-632 and cr74-250, and the highest yields in tmvh.year-1 were obtained at 12 months, followed by the performance at 8 months. these varieties could be used in sustaining a high amount of animal units per hectare
